T9 Truck Modification
Project Introduction
For this product we had to come up with an enhancement for the T9 Automoblox truck and to do so we had to reverse engineer the truck first. Reverse engineering is taking something apart to understand how it works so you can recreate it or enhance it. When my partner and I first got together we immediately began brainstorming ideas on how to enhance the car. We thought of things that would make the car really neat and appealing to kids but also things that would make the car look appealing to the eye.
Summarize
Define a Problem
Before break Hattie and I exchanged phone number so we could keep in contact about this project. We also assigned roles that we would have to complete. I was given the task of creating the car on Inventor while Hattie was given the task to do the Weebly. We also created the group norms chart and the design brief.
Generate Concepts
In this step my partner and I brainstormed many ideas and decided on what we were gonna make to enhance the car. We decided on adding a spoiler and a license plate to the car. We only managed to do the spoiler but we are both pleased with the way the entire car turned out.

When i showed my father this project he thought that the car looked really neat and that i did a good job with it. He liked that we didn't just add the spoiler but that we changed the entire theme of the car to go better with the whole racing theme. He really like the racing stripes on the car and he said it made it look a lot nicer than just having a blank boring car.
When I showed my mother the project she loved the car. She liked everything about it the color scheme, the racing stripes, the spoiler and she even said she wishes she could drive it. The only recommendation she had was to change the #1 decal on the side of the car to something else because she said it looked weird on the body.

Present Solution
The overall experience of this project was a good learning experience for me because it taught me the importance of reverse engineering and what can be done once the truck is taken apart. I am pleased with they way the car turned out in the end and I think it looks cool and very appealing to younger kids. The modification that my partner and I added to the truck was a spoiler to make it look like more of a race car. We also changed the color of the truck and added a few decals to make the car appear more like a race car.

When enhancing or changing a design it is important to consider whether new design or enhancement will look physically appealing to consumers so that the product will sell more and they are pleased with the item they purchased. It is also important to consider whether the enhancement is worth adding to the car. If the enhancement is really complex and will take a lot of time to complete then you should consider changing the enhancement to something different. For example in our brainstorming list we had a lot of crazy ideas that we would never have finished in the given amount of time. For the list itself however it is important to document all your ideas just in case an idea wont work then you have multiple ideas to fall back on if absolutely necessary. It is important to sketch your ideas down so that the engineer who is creating the object will know exactly what the size of certain part have to be so it can be constructed just like designer wanted it to.
